I enjoy sports. I adore to devote Sundays watching football. I really like participating in fantasy leagues. I nonetheless have VHS tapes of my favorite basketball games from the 90′s. I mean, I am sad that I am not better athlete, but watching them is high on my list of preferred things. So how excited was I when I read about an event that combines a bridal expo AND a basketball game? Very. prom dress boutiques  Brides and Basketball is a bridal show that happens at various cities RIGHT before basketball games. Want to get your groom excited about meeting wedding vendors? Buy tickets to these events and you will get free tickets to stay and watch the games. I mean, it’s a win-win situation. The stadiums open a little early and you can check out the different vendors, as well as during half-time.? I wish this was coming to a city near me!

Celebratory Giveaway

I am so enamored by Ketubahs and have been given that my quite 1st? encounter. For those of you who might not be familiar, a Ketubah is essentially a marriage contract between prom dress boutiques  a husband and wife – a tradition among Hebrew marriages dating back to ancient times.
Typically the document outlines various responsibilities of both the bride and groom and formalizes the groom’s commitment to protect and take care of his wife, though more modern Ketubahs may reference equal rights and protection for both the husband and wife. While many conjure images and thoughts of the familiar prenuptial agreement – and while there are a few similarities, the two documents do not run parallel. Quite the opposite of a classic pre-nup – which is typically not so pretty to look at much less display in your home, more often than not Ketubahs are beautiful hand written documents which are extremely often looked upon as works of art. In fact, it is not uncommon for a Ketubah to become an heirloom and be passed down to future generations. However, those who wish to partake in this long standing tradition may possibly wish to tailor the process and design, and even the text of the standard Ketubah. budget prom dresses  Ketubah Ketubah – now Ketubah.com,? is an online gallery that features over 750 fine art limited edition Ketubahs and offers a wide variety of themes, texts and many other customization options.? A big fan of the road less traveled, I love the fact that Ketubah.com gives couples the tools and options to tailor a Ketubah to their personal aesthetic, budget and religious preference. It is becoming more and more common for even those not of the Jewish faith to partake in the Ketubah tradition. In celebration of Ketubah Ketubah’s re-branding to Ketubah.com, this company which has provided more than 45,000 Ketubahs because its inception 14 years ago, will be giving away one Ketubah a week for the next 14 weeks, effective immediately. Inviting the Bridal Party part 1

The Q: "I have been engaged for a few months, and my fiance and I are about to take a trip to visit some of my closest friends.  I have already asked my sister to be my maid of honor, and to even out my fiancee’s side, I need to select two more friends.  I was wondering if you had any affordable prom dresses  advice — I have no idea what duties bridesmaids do traditionally (unlike this blog, I am never a bridesmaid, always a wedding singer), and that makes it harder to pick good attendants who I know will reduce my wedding day stress rather than add to it.
What kinds of roles do bridesmaids usually play in a wedding outside of looking beautiful and witnessing the ceremony?" The A: Thank you for the question. I find that we get this from a lot of brides in some format or another: sometimes it’s about how to replace a bridesmaid if someone has to drop out or, such as in this case, who you should invite or if you should bother to “even out prom dresses bargain  bridesmaids to groomsmen”. You should only ask your VERY CLOSEST friends or relatives to be bridesmaids. Seriously.
If you don’t have really obvious choices for your bridesmaids identities, then I suggest you don’t have them. It will be much less stressful to only have a maid of honor and have your other two groomsmen walk down the aisle single file or side by side than to increase the size of your bridal party. Generally speaking, with rare exceptions, more bridesmaids and groomsmen always results in more beautiful prom dresses  stress than less- through no fault of anyone’s in particular! I’ll explain the psychology of being a bridesmaid a little bit: it’s very expensive, and unless you truly are great friends with the bride, it often results in being less helpful and more disgruntled.

Instead of One Cake

I was genuinely excited when I got the “Get Married” Top 10 Trends of 2010, which included non-linear aisles (something I saw a lot of this year and also at the ABC conference), cobalt blue (a personal favorite) and glam for guys- think Old Hollywood, not Glambert. Anyway, beautiful prom dresses  one thing that I saw this year that I think would be an amazing trend is multiple cakes instead of just one wedding cake.?
For us this started out as a solution to a practical problem, that evolved into an expression of both design and tastebuds. Rachel and Noah’s good friend from Canada genuinely wanted to bake their wedding cake. Problem is, she would never be able to transport a cake of quite the size that they would need to feed the guestlist of nearly 140.? So, we had a thought… why not have one smaller wedding cake surrounded by a display of other mini-cakes.? We knew we would use different cake stands to create an artistic display and this gave the guests a chance to have many, many flavors of cake, best prom dresses  including some of those things that just don’t work as well when you need to construct a more elaborate wedding cake, like the strawberry shortcake.? The clients worked with Cheryl Kleinman to design a series of mini-cakes to reflect the homey, ecclectic look of their wedding (pics of which I will eventually have to share with you!) and this was the result.(pardon my horrible photography skills) Weren’t they adorable?? One had a blue toile, which was printed on rolled fondant, then there was the pumpkin cake, the cake with the birds next, the strawberry cake and my personal favorite, the cake with the marzipan figs on top.. it was stunning.?
While the look of this wedding was autumnal and eclectic, I prom dress boutiques  could see this concept working well for weddings using graphic prints and bold color on the fondant.? Additionally, by going this route, the couple spent a bit less than they might have on one more elaborate cake, but it contributed to the overall look and feel of the room. What do you think of multiple cakes???

involved with the GROOM part 1

The Q:“One of my best friends from college is getting married. He and I were involved years ago (in a very messy way) but have remained close friends despite our sexual prom dress boutiques  history. Five years after graduation we have stayed in touch, remained friends, and have been supportive of one-another.
I have invited him and his fiancee over for brunch, my friend and I see one another socially, and I have made an effort to befriend the fiancee. Several months ago, he and his fiancee invited me to their October wedding. As I am currently in a wonderful relationship of over two years and have no issues with my friend getting married, my boyfriend and I gladly accepted. Now, my friend’s fiancee has demanded that I not attend their wedding! She has even threatened to post-pone the event if my friend refuses to uninvite me. I’m extremely hurt and very angry. My friend and I have been close for almost ten years and have been with one another through thick and thin. We’re both very loyal people and consider our friendship really important. I can’t imagine not being there for the most important day of his life, and now I can’t imagine going. What’s worse is, I know his fiancee is trying to end our friendship. I could use some advice on how to handle this horrible situation.” The A: Oh my god, it is horrible! And yet, I’m so budget prom dresses  sad to say, you are hardly the first girl that this has happened to.
THE FOLLOWING IS MY PERSONAL ADVICE, since this is only quasi Wedding Etiquettte related: It’s the extension of the Harry and Sally dilemma of “Can Men and Women be Friends”. It’s like we figured out that, sure we can (though, truthfully, usually AFTER people have been involved) but then no one ever talks about what happens when anoter woman (OR MAN) gets involved. I don’t know what happened that set his fiancee “off”- meaning why she was cool with you and your attendance one minute and then not cool the next- but whatever it is, there is one really critical thing that you affordable prom dresses  need to accept: She’s going to be the wife. It totally blows (is that crude? sorry), but it does. Wifedom trumps friendship in the game of life. And if it doesn’t, then they, as a couple, have other issues.

Holiday Gifts Ideas part 1

I genuinely appreciate giving gifts, but, getting the weirdo that I'm, I truly don’t enjoy shopping. ?I wish that I had the fore sight to buy thoughtful presents throughout the year and then just store them in my shoebox apartment to give at the holidays… but since that isn’t going to affordable prom dresses  happen, I basically end up online shopping…. ?
For me, this presents a problem. ?First, I never get it together to take advantage of cyber Monday and secondly, I don’t like buying generic seeming presents (I know, I’m so difficult!). ?So I was so happy when I got an email from our friend Amanda Allen, the founder of NewlyWish about how the site is a great registry site, BUT it’s also a great source for ?holiday gifts. ? If you aren’t familiar, NewlyWish is the online registry source for the best of some of New York City’s boutique retailers… so, small, unique shops that wouldn’t otherwise have the capabilities for online retailing ability are carefully prom dresses bargain  curated by NewlyWish and their best items are available to shop from AND to register for. ?Soo registry aside, here is some of what I’d like to buy for people on my holiday list! Mayra and her boyfriend love doing adorably dorky things around the city like self guided walking tours while they listen to podcasts from the historical society (seriously, you truly can’t make that kind of stuff up). ?
So, for them I’d get them this book New York 400: A visual History of America’s Greatest City and stuff a couple of Museum of the City of New York memberships inside. My cousin Eric and his wife just bought a new house and they celebrate both Chanukah and Christmas. This beautiful beautiful prom dresses  menorah would be a great housewarming/holiday gift for them. My other cousins have a lot of kids and a nice big table to have meals together at.
